Ani DiFranco
"So what"
Unreleased Live Track - Rochester. NY 11/99.
What better way to celebrate women's history month than with a song by Ani DiFranco. Ani has singlehandedly turned folk music upside down. A prolific, political dynamo, she writes, plays and performs like no one else. I found one MP3 for you - a live bootleg (which Ani encourages). The quality is iffy, but like the previous Eric Andersen track from the Philly Folk Festival, this one captures the energy of being in the crowd at a concert. And it's the only way to get this unrelased song until the March 30 release of reckoning/revelling.
("I Loved You) So What" is typical of DiFranco's lovesong style - passionate, combative, self-protective - it's a style that has mobilized a whole generation of girls to look out for #1 - no wonder Ms. Magazine loves her.
"So What" is the only MP3 download - nearly at the bottom of the
page, past miles of Real Audio clips. Enjoy.
