Jess Klein
"Jane"

Jess Klein is one of the more popular of the young women folksingers. She has toured with "Voices on the Verge" with such writers as Erin McKeown and Rose Polenzani, and usually puts on quite an edge. But I prefer her writing and singing in this quiet moment, a previously unreleased acoustic version of "Jane," accompanied by a cello, telling a story to a friend. It's at her website - when you reach the homepage, click on "Multimedia" and then Audio. It's the featured download:
http://jessklein.com

Klein offers three other MP3s at her site at mp3.com:

I like "Wading Pool," another quiet moment spent contemplating a shallow lover, but if you want to sample Klein's newer folk-rock material, try "Little White Dove" - the second track on the page.
