Beverley is an historic market town situated some 5 miles north of Hull.
Its narrow streets broaden into a real market square bounded with
buildings typical of an old Yorkshire town. There are many attractions
around the town besides the Folk Festival including the gothic minster
founded in the eighth century, the Museum of Army Transport, the
racecourse, a plethera of excellent pubs and beautiful surrounding
countryside. During the festival weekend many of the pubs host various
sessions and street performances including morris dancers, magicians,
comedians, children's entertainers and mummers entertain locals and
visitors alike.

dynamics of the song tradition and its universal centrality in the cultures

outstanding natural beauty.
