Fenario - Folk Music e-Zine

In the fall of 1999, I agreed to work as the Folk Music guide at About.com mostly for the opportunity of creating an online MP3 magazine modeled on the philosophy of Fast Folk Musical Magazine. The first issue came out on the last day of December of that year. During the following year, About.com's constant management shifts and changing content demands made it difficult to continue putting out the magazine regularly, and the site proved to be ineffective in drawing listeners to download the MP3s. My affiliation with About.com ended in Sept. 2001, but the lyrics and bios for the Fenario issues that came out continue to reside here at balladtree.com for archival interest. The mp3.com website became a lame commercial music portal about two years later and the Fenario MP3s are no longer available, except in some cases by the individual artists.
